Befitting the vital mission we undertake in the name of patients every day, we recognize it is imperative that we conduct ourselves, both as individuals and collectively as a company, with resolute integrity. In fact, integrity is one of the core values that every employee of Cephalon is expected to uphold (see sidebar).
Cephalon Standards of Global Business Practices
These shared values are the foundation of the Cephalon Standards of Global Business Practices. While the laws and regulations of countries in which we operate are to be strictly adhered to by each Cephalon employee, our Standards aim higher. We recognize that the mere appearance of impropriety or unethical behavior undermines our mission and imperils our success. By holding ourselves to the highest ethical standards, we can build trust among all our stakeholders and further our business objectives.
We actively encourage our employees to immediately report any suspected or known violations of the law or company policy by making available resources through which employees may report violations, confidentially if they wish. These resources include our Global Compliance department and our Compliance Hotline.
By living up to our standards of business practice, we honor the values on which Cephalon was founded and assure that we continue to help improve the health of patients around the world.
Supporting Industry Guidelines
Cephalon and its employees adhere to the principles and guidelines set forth by the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA), which were developed with input from physician groups, medical groups, company representatives and other stakeholders. These principles and guidelines comprise what is called the PhRMA Code and it focuses on the industry’s relationships with healthcare professionals in the marketing of pharmaceutical products.
