TREANDA® Named Major Advancement in Cancer Treatment and Prevention
The American Society for Clinical Oncology (ASCO) lists Cephalon oncology treatment TREANDA third of 12 major advances in cancer prevention and treatment in 2008. Only studies that significantly altered the way a cancer is understood, or had an important impact on patient care, were included in the list.
Cephalon Recognized by Automotive Fleet Magazine
Cephalon is ranked 17th in Automotive Fleet magazine’s Top 50 Hybrid Fleet list of commercial fleets, recognizing a corporate initiative designed to increase fuel efficiency, and reduce the carbon footprint and greenhouse gas emissions.
Cephalon added to S&P 500
Standard & Poor’s adds Cephalon to the world-renowned S&P 500 Index. The Index represents the top 500 companies in leading industries of the U.S. economy. The S&P 500 is widely regarded as the best single gauge of the U.S. equities market.
ACTIQ Inventor Inducted into Utah Technology Council 2008 Hall of Fame
Dr. Theodore H. Stanley was inducted into the Utah Technology Council 2008 Hall Of Fame in recognition of his contribution to the information technology and life science industries through new technology, innovation and leadership. In 1985, Dr. Stanley commercialized his 1983 product invention, ACTIQ® (oral transmucosal fentanyl citrate) C-II, which became the first pain product marketed by Cephalon.
NASDAQ OMX Biotechnology Index Includes Cephalon
Cephalon is included in the new NASDAQ OMX Biotechnology Index (NASDAQ:QGBI), a modified market-capitalization weighted index designed to track the performance of the largest and most liquid companies engaged in the biotechnology sector.
Cephalon Awarded Manufacturer of the Year
Cephalon receives the AmerisourceBergen Manufacturer of the Year Award, Branded Pharmaceutical Sales Under $300 Million, for the second consecutive year.
Cephalon Recognized by Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption
Cephalon is named to the 2008 Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption list of America’s Top 100 employers with the best adoption benefits, ranking 3rd among pharmaceutical companies, and 26th out of the top 100 employers with the best adoption benefits. The Foundation was established by the late Dave Thomas, the founder of Wendy’s, to increase the number of North American foster children adopted into families.
Cephalon Vice President Named Pharmaceutical Executive Emerging Leader
Eric Floyd, Cephalon Vice President of Worldwide Regulatory Affairs, is named by Pharmaceutical Executive as one of their "45 under 45" Emerging Leaders. Candidates were nominated by their industry peers and evaluated by an Editorial Advisory Board. Mr. Floyd led the Cephalon regulatory effort responsible for three NDA filings in 2007.
Cephalon Executive Receives L&LS Man of the Year Award
Robert P. Roche, Jr., Cephalon Executive Vice President, Worldwide Pharmaceutical Operations, received the Man of the Year Award from the Greater Philadelphia Chapter of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society for spearheading the effort to raise funds for blood cancer research, education, and patient services.
French Légion d’Honneur
Cephalon Europe President Alain Aragues named a Chevalier of the Légion d’Honneur by the government of France in recognition of his contributions to the country, particularly his tireless efforts to improve healthcare standards for people suffering with HIV and his impressive record in creating jobs in the pharmaceutical industry. Since joining Cephalon in 2002, Alain has led the company’s expansion throughout Europe.
